Weekend Recap: Laughs, Drinks, and Eagles Energy

Some weekends feel ordinary, some feel chaotic, and then there are weekends like this one—pure perfection from start to finish.

Friday started with a gift to myself: a half day. Sometimes you just need to hit pause and put yourself first, and that’s exactly what I did. I booked a salon appointment, slid into the chair, and watched as the black hair and bangs made their triumphant return. There’s something about fresh bangs that makes you feel like you’ve got your life together—even if it’s an illusion. Add a fresh manicure into the mix, and I walked out feeling like a new woman, fully ready to take on the weekend.

That night, I met up with two of my oldest friends—the kind who’ve known me since childhood, which means they have all the embarrassing stories on lock. We headed to see Hannah Berner, and oh my god, she did not disappoint. The show was hilarious from start to finish, but what made it really special was being there with the people who’ve been part of my story since the very beginning. For a few hours, the world outside didn’t exist. We laughed until our stomachs hurt, forgot about everything going on in our personal lives, and just let ourselves be carefree. Nights like that remind me that no matter how much life changes, some friendships are forever anchors.

Saturday shifted gears into family mode—but make it fun. Eric and I played hosts and took my parents on a neighborhood bar crawl. We hit four different spots, each with its own personality: cozy vibes, loud music, quirky cocktails—you name it, we tried it. Between drinks and shared appetizers, my parents and Eric got to know each other on a deeper level. Seeing them laugh together, trading stories like old friends, was such a heartwarming moment for me. And as if the night wasn’t already special, my parents also came to see our apartment for the first time. It felt like one of those nights where different parts of my life blended seamlessly, and I couldn’t stop smiling.

Sunday was the crown jewel of the weekend. Eric and I were out the door before most people had finished their coffee, heading to the bar for an Eagles pregame party by 8:30 a.m. (yes, the sun was barely up, but the Birds wait for no one). By the time kickoff rolled around, we were surrounded by friends at Xfinity Live, and the energy was off the charts. The crowd, the chants, the music—it was the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger. The Eagles win made the day even sweeter, but honestly, the highlight wasn’t the scoreboard. It was sharing it all with Eric. He’s not just my partner; he’s my best friend, the person I want beside me for every win, every laugh, every memory. Days like that, I know I’ll never forget.

Meanwhile, Penny was living her best life on a staycation with my parents. I missed her all weekend, so picking her up after work today was the sweetest reunion. My little B was so excited, and honestly, so was I.

Tonight, the plan is slow and cozy—Eric (my favorite chef) cooking dinner, cuddles on the couch, movies, and maybe even a bubble bath if I’m feeling fancy. It’s the perfect calm after a whirlwind few days.

Now it’s Monday, and yes, I’m tired, but if you ask me whether I’d do it all again? In a heartbeat.
