Send Electrolytes
Last night, I made a bold decision. A choice some might call unhinged and others might call inspiring. I went to a boxing class… in 100-degree weather.
That’s right. While most people were inside blasting AC and questioning their life choices, I was outside punching the ever-loving stress out of my body, one jab at a time, while dripping sweat from places I didn’t know could sweat.
And honestly? It was kind of iconic.
The best part? Mid-workout, someone told me I was a natural athlete. Which like — S L A Y. I will now be referring to myself as such until further notice.
Am I sore? Yes.
Am I sunburned in weird spots? Also yes.
Do I regret anything? Absolutely not.
I took out enough aggression to maybe avoid therapy for a whole week (kidding, my therapist would never allow that), and I’m feeling like a stronger, slightly crispy version of myself.
Fast forward to today — plot twist — I will be working outside. All day. In the same fiery, skin-melting heat. The universe really said, “You wanted to sweat? Keep going.”
But here I am: thriving.
Hydrated.
Maybe a little sunburned.
Still wearing last night’s post-workout pride like a badge of honor (or possibly just salt stains).
The lesson? If you’re going to make unhinged decisions in 100-degree heat, at least do it with conviction. And sunscreen. Always sunscreen.
Catch me tomorrow, possibly icing my entire body while still calling myself an athlete. Because I am. That’s the blog. That’s the message.
Xoxo,
Devon
